ACFL Round 3 Results
The Division 5 side were away to Tubberclair on Tuesday night last for Round 2 of the League. A very good performance and two goals from Matthew Cunningham resulted in a strong win for the lads on a score-line of The Downs 2-13 to Tubberclair’s 1-09. The lads are home to Ballinagore on Tuesday evening next at 8 p.m. in Round 3 of the League.
The Division 1 side took on Athlone on Friday night at home under lights. Despite being a point down at half time, the lads stuck to their task to emerge as eventual winners on a score line of The Downs 1-13 to Athlone 1-09.
On Saturday afternoon The Division 4 side made it three wins from three away from home against Caulry. Only a point to the good at half-time, it was The Downs to push on for the win with a 5-point margin. Final score The Downs 1-11 Caulry 1-06.
Registration
Online Registration: Registration for 2024 is now live. All registration can be paid with the click of a button. All you have to do is visit our website www.thedownsgaa.com and click membership. The Downs Ladies registration can be paid via Foireann. Please click Ladies Football to access. Please do not hesitate to contact any committee member for further instruction.

Ireland Lights Up/Couch to 5K
Ireland Lights up continues every Thursday at 7.30 p.m. in conjunction with our Healthy Clubs Initiative.
Underage Training
Underage training continues this week for all age groups. The nursery/U8’s and U10s will train on Saturday afternoons from 3.30p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on 16th/23rd/30th March. Training will then return to the usual Friday nights 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. from April 6th. All new members welcome.

We would like to wish The Downs Playground Committee best wishes on the Grand Opening of the playground here in the GAA Club on Bank Holiday Monday March 18th at 2 p.m. A culmination of hard work from the committee has resulted in this fantastic facility for The Downs community. We congratulate and wish them every success.
Gaelic4Mothers&Others
Na Dúnta G4M&O are back in action on March 20th and every Wednesday night thereafter. Anyone from the area looking for a bit of fun as well as a bit of exercise are all welcome. This programme has been a huge success for the club. Please contact Martha on 0871427400 for any further inquiries.
Congratulations
Many congratulations to Colaiste Mhuire on the recent North Leinster final succes (after a penalty shoot-out) particularly to The Downs representatives on the team; Pádraig Monaghan, Aaron Connaire, Finn Raeside, Peter Conneely, Seanie Flynn and Conor Cleary. Well done to all.

The Club shop will be open next Saturday afternoon during underage training for all your essentials for the year ahead.
