U16 Division 5 Champions
Our U16 Div 5 team came up with a Houdini style performance in the Division 5 U16 final in The Downs last Saturday morning. Trailing by 9 points at half time they produced a fantastic second-half comeback. The deficit was overturned and The Downs were in fact 4 points ahead late in the second half. St. Lomans to their credit came back to again go ahead by a point. However The Downs managed to kick an equaliser through Rían Gilhooley and then TJ Loughlin held his nerve to kick an excellent free to take the lead again. This time there was time for no more and The Downs were Division 5 champions. Huge congratulations to all our players and management team of Vinnie Conneely, Eddie Quinlan, Cahal Kelly, Jasper Rijksen, Alan Mooney, Lane Orme and Tommy Coyne after a thrilling final. The lads showed incredible character and determination. They never gave up and fought right to the final whistle.
Final Score Na Dúnta 3-9 St Lomans 4-5
