ACFL Round 4 Results
The Division 1 team unfortunately lost out to a strong Kinnegad side last Friday night away from home. Johnny Murrays charges suffered their first defeat of the season on a score-line of 4-11 to 2-04.
Early on Sunday the Division 5 team were away to CFCW. The lads came out second best on this occasion also on a score-line of CFCW 2-11 to The Downs 1-04.
Underage Results
Our U16’s played Mullingar Shamrocks last Monday night in the first round of the League with both sides settling for a draw on a score-line of 2-06 a-piece.
The U14 Division 1 team suffered a defeat in the opening round of their league on Wednesday night against a strong St. Lomans side while the Division 4 team’s scheduled game v Lilliput Gaels was cancelled.
The minor team were up against a high calibre Tubberclair team who proved to be too strong last Friday.
The U12 team were in action on Sunday morning as they were kindly invited to The Sean Dempsey Memorial blitz in St. Lomans Lakepoint Park. Ciarán McCormacks troops played against Mullingar Shamrocks, Shandonagh and St. Lomans receiving a memorial plate for their participation by our own Linda Wallace on the day. Congratulations to St. Lomans on providing a superb morning of football and providing refreshments for everyone in attendance. A festival of football and hospitality.
Our U8 and U10 boys gave a super display of football in the first round of the Go-Games last Saturday at home. Opposition was provided by Ballynacarrgy and Milltownpass GAA with some superb skills on show from all teams. Thanks to Ballynacargy and Milltownpass for travelling.
LGFA Senior Results
The Division 3 team were in action in Round 1 of the League at home Friday night. Despite scoring 16 points the girls still ended up on the wrong side of a 6-07 to 0-16 point defeat.
The Division 2 team were in action on Sunday morning in their first round against St. Jospehs. A draw at half-time at five points a-piece, St. Josephs kicked on to win with 2 points to spare. Final score St. Josephs 1-07 to 0-8.
Easter Camp
The Downs GAA and LGFA are proud to be running an Easter Camp for the second year running. You can now register for the 2-day camp on the following link: https://naduntagaa.clubzap.com/categories/camp/products The camp will take place on 4th/5th April from 10 to 1 with lots of fun and games for all kids from Junior Infants to 6th class.

Music in the Clubhouse Bar
Why not join us on this Saturday night Saturday 30th for great entertainment in the clubhouse. Music will be provided by Tommy McCormack.
Underage Training
Underage training continues this week for all age groups. The nursery/U8’s and U10s will train on Saturday afternoons from 3.30p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on 23rd/30th March. Training will then return to the usual Friday nights 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. from April 6th. All new members welcome.
Gaelic4Mothers&Others
Na Dúnta G4M&O are back in action on March 20th and every Wednesday night thereafter. Anyone from the area looking for a bit of fun as well as a bit of exercise are all welcome. This programme has been a huge success for the club. Please contact Martha on 0871427400 for any further inquiries.

We extend our sincere condolences to Peter and Tony Collins and extended families (Mullingar Pewter) on the death of their mother Aedine Collins late of Lynn, Mullingar, Co.Westmeath.
