The countdown to our annual Valentines 5k/10k fundraiser on 16th February is kicking off at 11 am. Athletics Ireland approved event with chipped timing, category prizes and refreshments in the clubhouse after. Walkers welcome also. For more information, contact Anne Marie on 0874140184

Couch to 5k / Valentines Run continues every Monday at 7:30pm at the Downs GAA Club. The initiative is run every Monday with our fantastic running coach Criona. All welcome. 

Heartiest congratulations to Coláiste Mhuire on an amazing win after extra time in the Br. Bosco Leinster final last Sunday defeating Ardscoil Athy on a score-line of 3-10 to 1-13. It was a wonderful spectacle to watch with end to end action with Coláiste Mhuire working tirelessly against a somewhat more physical side. We are particularly proud of our six Na Dúnta footballers Michael Moloney, Peter Conneely, Darragh Smith, Aaron Connaire, Conor Daly and Eoin Mullin 

After 42 years since Coláiste Mhuire last won the trophy, the team proudly walked in the gates of the school with the cup aloft greeted by parents, families, friends, school-mates, teachers and former pupils in celebration of a wonderful performance and win. They now look forward to an All-Ireland semi-final against Connacht champions St. Comans of Claremorris (Mayo) in two weeks’ time with details to be confirmed. Congratulations to all involved.

 

 

 

The Downs Dragons continues every 2nd Saturday at 12 p.m. in the clubhouse. New members always welcome. Next date for the diary is Saturday Feb 15th. Free jersey on registration for new members.

Our Club Calendar for 2025 is still available. We extend our gratitude to all our sponsors for their continued generosity and support in this venture. Calendars can be picked up in Mullingar Pewter, A&J Newsagents Coralstown and Egan’s Rathconnell Service Station while stocks last. Calendars are €3 each or 2 for €5.

Pre Loved Gear Shop

The Downs LGFA  will be running a Pre Loved Gear Shop over the coming weeks. 

If you have any football boots, jerseys, half zips, shorts etc that don't fit but have plenty of life in them why not donate to our Gear Shop. The items can be passed to Liz (Kids Cove) or contact Paula 087-6411149/ Niamh 085-837 9798

The date of our sale shop will be confirmed in due course. Please ensure all items are clean and in good condition.

Bingo continues every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. All new members welcome.
