Our Couch to 5k training programme is back!! A 6 week training plan with the aim of completing our annual 5k run on February 15th. Run, jog, walk or whatever your goal is why not try for free starting on Monday January 5th with coach Críona Reid. Start time is 7.30 p.m at The Downs GAA Club. All abilities and levels catered for.

The Downs Dragons were back in action this week. Wonderful fun was had by all. Many thanks to all the volunteers for making it such a great success. The Dragons are completing a nursery programme in the hall for all children aged 3-6 every Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.This will be an introduction to football in a fun, family friendly environment. All new members welcome. 

Many congratulations to Westmeath GAA on winning their first piece of silverware for the year securing the O’Byrne Cup last Friday night. Particular congratulations to our own lads on the panel. Special mention to Luke Loughlin on kicking the winning 2-pointer to clinch the win.
