U19 Boys Division 1 Championship
The U19 boys kicked off their championship with a tough assignment against Tyrellspass away on Thursday evening last. With just a kick of a ball between the two sides at half-time (2-06 to 1-06) it was Tyrellspass who emerged victorious at the final whistle on a score-line of 4-11 to 2-11. Goals for The Downs were curtesy of Niall Bardon (first half) and Josh Murtagh (second half). Next up for this group is Coralstown Kinnegad in two weeks-time. Hard luck to all involved.
U15 Sponsorship
The U15 squad were presented with their new training tops this week. Sponsorship was provided by Keith Dunne of Curraghmore Kitchens. We thank Keith for his very kind and generous gesture. Much appreciated.
LGFA
Our U12 girls were in action last Thursday evening against a strong St. Lomans side. Two games were played between the two sides with our girls giving a very good account of themselves. Thanks to St. Lomans for travelling.
Our U8 and 10 girls put on a fine display of football out in Clonmellon last Saturday against hosts St. Pauls, St. Lomans, Mullingar Shamrocks, Ballycomoyle, Coralstown Kinneagad and Killucan in the latest Go-Games blitz. Thanks to St. Pauls for hosting superbly.
