Round 3 SFC/JFC Results
On Friday last the Junior 1 side took on Mullingar Shamrocks in a mini double header in Springfield with the U13’s. Despite being three points ahead at half time, it was Shamrocks that pushed on taking all the points on offer. Final score: 1-08 to 0-9.
Saturday evening in TEG Cusack Park The Downs seniors played Coralstown Kinnegad in the third round of the Shay Murtagh Championship. The lads were a point down at half time 1-05 to 1-04. Unfortunately, that lead stretched to 1-12 to 1-06 in the second in favour of Coralstown Kinnegad. Hard luck to all involved.
Underage Results
Hard luck to our U17 boys who were beaten in the 2nd round of the championship at home on Monday night last. Congratulations to St. Mary’s Rochfortbridge who were fully deserved of their win.
The U13 Division 1 team recorded a good win away to Mullingar Shamrocks on Friday evening last in the wet weather. The lads are going from strength to strength in this competition–well done to all. Final score 5-07 to 1-06.
Our U7’s U9’s and U11’s travelled the short distance to Killucan on Saturday morning last. All three squads took on Killucan and St. Lomans with some brilliant performances on show. Thanks as always to Killucan who were superb hosts.
LGFA
Well done to the Senior B ladies who came away from Lakepoint Park during the week with a comprehensive victory over our near neighbours St. Lomans.
